How It Started

Before I ever created Simple Shifts Wellness, I started with… me.

I was exhausted, bloated, overwhelmed, and constantly running on empty while juggling work, home, and five kids. For a long time, I told myself this was just “normal mom life.”

But when I began diving into functional medicine, everything changed.

I learned how deeply food, stress, sleep, movement, and environment impact our bodies — not just in emergencies or illness, but every single day. So I started making changes in my own life. Simple ones. Swapping ingredients. Prioritizing sleep. Supporting my nervous system. Drinking more water. Caring for myself on purpose — not as an afterthought.

And then it hit me…

👉 I wasn’t just responsible for my own health.
I was shaping the health of my entire family, too.

And the truth? I realized I couldn’t rely on food safety systems, processed products, or “what everyone else is doing” to keep my family well. If I wanted my kids to feel nourished, supported, calm, and healthy…

I had to lead the way — right in our home.

So we started making simple shifts as a family.

Not a huge overhaul.
Not perfection.
Not restriction or guilt.

Just small, consistent changes.

And I won’t sugarcoat it — there was resistance. There were eye rolls. There were moments where it felt hard and messy and inconvenient. I struggled. Big time.

But slowly… the shifts worked.

✨ moods improved
✨ behavior steadied
✨ energy increased
✨ sleep got better
✨ stress went down
✨ our home felt calmer

And I realized something powerful:

Small shifts work better than big overhauls — especially for families.


From Our Home to the Community

As I continued my work as a nurse and functional wellness practitioner, I began teaching workshops for kids, teens, schools, and summer camps.

We talked about real-food nutrition, movement, brain health, stress, sleep, and taking ownership of your wellbeing.

And again and again, parents would find me afterward and say:

“I wish we had something like this to use at home.”

They didn’t want another strict plan.
They wanted support — simplified.

That’s when the idea for the Family Reset Box was born.

A way for families to:

My Mission

To make whole-family wellness simple, joyful, realistic, and sustainable.

Because you shouldn’t need a medical degree or unlimited time to take care of your family’s health.

And you don’t have to do it perfectly.

You just have to start.
